Yaeli has learned to put in her own pacifier! I can't believe we made it! I always knew that things would get easier when she would be able to take it herself. I am still amazed when I watch her on the monitor wake up a little, take the pacifier with her hand, put it in herself, and keep sleeping. It is the best feeling to see her do it! No more nights of constantly getting up to put her pacifier back in. She will still cry sometimes if the pacifier fell on the floor or if she can't find it. But its usually just once a night. She has been sleeping all the way through most nights now!
Yaeli loves her pacifier! It's been invaluable. We gave her a pacifier in the hospital the first day and she loved it from the beginning. We still use the same type that the hospital gave us. We tried a few other types, but she only wants the green round one. Whenever she's crying it calms her down, and she can only fall asleep if she is sucking on it. We bought ribbons with clips so that we can have one clipped to her at any time. If she's upset and I give her the pacy, I can see her face calm down as she starts sucking on it. Honestly, its like a drug to her.
She is also very talented with her pacy. I've seen her be able to keep it in her mouth even when crying, burping, smiling, sneezing, and even screaming. I'm just waiting for her to start flipping tricks with it! :)
